What are Apprenticeships?

ApprenticeshipsApprenticeships are a great way for you learn new skills while 'doing the job'.

With an Apprenticeship you will be able to achieve a qualification directly related to your job role and develop new skills. So whether you're employed or unemployed an Apprenticeship can help you and your organisation develop and grow.

An Apprenticeship can help you develop, gain new skills and qualifications and get on in your career. They can provide you with real on the job training and help you get where you want to be in your life and your career.

Do I have to be employed?

No. If you're not working at the moment you can still start an Apprenticeship and our job is to help you find suitable employment so that you can earn while you learn.

If you're already employed we can begin delivering the specific training, tailored your and your employers employer's needs.

How long does it take to do an Apprenticeship?

An Apprenticeship lasts around 9 - 12 months with and Advanced Apprenticeship lasting 12 - 18 months.

What's the difference between and Apprenticeship and an Advanced Apprenticeship?

By doing an Apprenticeship you will gain a Level 2 NVQ alongside help with key skills and you will receive a technical certificate that shows that you really know how to do your job. An Advanced Apprenticeship will provide you with a Level 3 NVQ as well as the key skills training and technical certificate.

How old to I have to be?

You can be any age to take part in the Apprenticeship programme, as long as you're over 16 age is not a barrier. It's worth taking into account that an Advanced Apprenticeship is equivalent to gaining two 'A' Levels and can help you to get into University.
